About The Book
“Girl with Ramen Noodle Hair” is a heartwarming and empowering picture book that reminds young readers that what makes them different also makes them special. With vibrant illustrations and a tender, relatable story, this book follows Katherine, a bright and imaginative 5th grader who hides behind a purple knit cap to cover her thick, wavy blonde hair, because she was teased long ago for it looking like ramen noodles.
As graduation approaches, Katherine begins a journey of rediscovering her confidence, thanks to a new dress, two butterfly hair clips, and the gentle encouragement of trusted adults. Through kindness, reflection, and self-acceptance, Katherine learns that embracing what makes her unique is her greatest strength.
Perfect for children ages 5–10, this beautifully illustrated story offers a gentle message about self-esteem, friendship, and finding the courage to let your light, and your hair, shine.
A must-have for any classroom, library, or home bookshelf, Girl with Ramen Noodle Hair is a touching tale of growing up, letting go of fear, and stepping boldly into who you are.
